The Story Behind the Words || Chee Chee Dumas

Melyn Dumas, more widely known as Cheemie Dumas, is a Journalism graduate and a Licensed Professional Teacher with experience in both Early Childhood Education and High School instruction. Throughout her teaching career, she has guided students from Nursery and Kindergarten to Junior and Senior High School. Today, she is a dedicated homeschool teacher and tutor, working with children through Curated Touch under the U.S. curriculum and, more recently, the Philippine program.

A Writer at Heart

Beyond the classroom, Melyn is a passionate writer, poet, and storyteller. She is the author of children’s stories such as The Mountain Cat, The Yellow Ducky Duck Duck, and The White Mountains, alongside memoirs and fiction works that reflect her love for storytelling, faith, healing, and personal growth.

As a poet, she has published dozens of poems on her WordPress since 2008, on Wattpad since 2016, and most recently on her Facebook page, Prose and Poetry (2025). Under her pen name Samara Emely, she also writes fiction novels available on Wattpad.

Creativity Beyond Writing

Her creativity extends beyond writing. She finds joy in painting on canvas, sewing, and gardening. Nature, art, and the night sky inspire her. Stars, the moon, and the mysteries of the universe often fuel her imagination and creative spirit.

Melyn actively shares her reflections and creative projects through her Facebook pages, Chee Chee’s Corner and Padawan Chronicles. Her official page, Chee Chee’s Corner, serves as a platform for personal blog articles, beauty and makeup tutorials, life reflections, health and wellness insights, book reviews, and other creative work.

She is also the voice behind the Chee Chee’s Corner Podcast – Real Talks. Good Vibes, Every Episode on Spotify, where she shares heartfelt conversations about healing, faith, forgiveness, personal growth, motherhood, and everyday life.

On TikTok, Melyn enjoys expressing her fun and creative side by sharing dance videos, lip-sync performances, and dramatic voice-over content. She believes creativity comes in many forms, and she enjoys using social media not only to educate and inspire but also to entertain and connect with people from all walks of life.

In addition, she manages her travel and educational blog, Journey with My Pinaycheedee, where she documents her adventures and shares practical guides on visa processing, international marriage procedures, life abroad, and travel experiences.
